Our aged dark patchouli layering note adds a woody-earthy depth and richness to scents. Can be work on its own as a stand alone perfume or as a fixative for floral, tea, incense, amber, musks, or woody scents. It will take down the sweetness of anything that's too gourmand or sugary vanilliac. Patchouli is an excellent base layer for amber, woods, incenses, teas, indolic florals, and musks. Redolent with botanical pheromones, patchouli is known for stimulating attraction and desire as well as increasing connection to one's physicality.
Best layered under: Amber, resins, woods, musks, tea, heady florals, vanillas, and spices
Best for fixing: Perfumes that are too sweet, sugary, gourmand, heavily floral, or powdery
Layering notes let you shift and alter your scents to match your mood or the seasons, to take advantage of subtle skin chemistry changes, or to dabble with the olfactory arts of niche perfumery. Layering notes are also an easy way to customize your favorite scents and make them uniquely and unforgettably yours.... or can help rekindle a romance with perfume you once loved but are getting a little bored with. The simplicity and uncomplicated linear qualities of single notes are distinctive in and of themselves for stand alone.
