The scent of a country summer evening settling into night… wheat fields, new grasses, tilled earth, and stones slowly cooling. Includes a special blend of traditional midsummer botanicals - saint johnswort, vervain, hawthorn, and rowan leaves.
"I am he that walks with the tender and growing night,
I call to the earth and sea half-held by the night.
Press close bare-bosom'd night—press close magnetic nourishing night!
Night of south winds—night of the large few stars!
Still nodding night—mad naked summer night.
Smile O voluptuous cool-breath'd earth!
Earth of the slumbering and liquid trees!
Earth of departed sunset—earth of the mountains misty-topt!
Earth of the vitreous pour of the full moon just tinged with blue!
Earth of shine and dark mottling the tide of the river!
Earth of the limpid gray of clouds brighter and clearer for my sake!
Far-swooping elbow'd earth—rich apple-blossom'd earth!
Smile, for your lover comes."
For me, this is that romantic summer night in love -- college, a dinner party outside under the stars behind the little red house. Professors were there. It was a luau theme (so ridiculous!). Everyone left to go to a dance, but we stayed alone to talk and laugh with only the wind and the trees and the stars around us. I had on a yellow dress, my hair was wild, and he was a god and I was a goddess that night. Yep. Falling Stars at Summer Solstice.
If you've ever been in love on or with a summer night, you will be transported there with this oil. I hope it is available forever. view less
